It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Guilds April Newsletter, in recent months the Guild has started the process of change to take it forward into being an Internationally recognised members focused trade association. With the launch of the New Guild website we have created more opportunities for our members to promote their businesses on-line to a growing International audience, through our growing presence at key industry trade shows, our members will have further opportunity to reach their target audiences without the overwhelming associated costs and through our Joint Venture Partnership scheme we can now support your business to expand into the growing Asian market place. However not everything will change, for along side these new initiatives we will of course continue to run the events that bring you, our members, together to network and enjoy the company of other professionals in the travel and tourism industry - Please do not hesitate to contact either myself of Nigel Bishop with any thoughts or comments and I look forward to welcoming you all in Hong Kong should you find yourself coming this way.
Have a good month and thank you for your continuing support.
Steven Ballantyne
Director of International Development

The Guild will shortly be announcing the launch date of its first International Chapter in Hong Kong. With a dedicated Asia Member's page on the website, a list of new events and an enhanced range of benefits there is no better time to join The Guild and be part of its growing business to business community. There is no need to stand alone when you have the International Guild of Travel and Tourism supporting you in your business endeavours.
Members are welcome from all aspects of the travel, tourism and hospitality sectors including suppliers to the travel industry.
'Working as one organisation and community rather than independent country chapters'.
Country and international members will be able to promote their business through The Guild including sponsorship of high profile trade events in the UK, Asia, Middle East, Africa and the Americas. The Guild will continue to encourage members to use The Guild as a key business resource says Steven Ballantyne, Director of the Hong Kong Asia Chapter.
The Hong Kong Chapter will be a bridge for developing industry business relations between Asia and Europe. Hong Kong is one of the great international business cities and its strategic location in the heart of Asia makes it the ideal location for The Guild's first move into the global arena.
This heralds an exciting new era for The Guild and I am delighted to be taking this initiative and leading this move towards making The Guild a leading international voice for the travel industry - Steven Ballantyne, The Guild's International Development Director.
